Work - 1915 – Black & White. The tale of a paper hanger (always a good source of classic Chaplin mirth) called Izzy A. Wake and his hapless assistant, Chaplin. Other characters include the man of the house, his wife, an amorous Frenchman and a maid, the latter being the target of our hero’s attention. A large bucket of wallpaper paste and an exploding oven seem to settle matters! In the Park - 1915 – Black & White. A recipe for spring time fancy featuring theft, Frenchmen, pocketbooks, nursemaids, portly gentlemen and a string of hot dog sausages! Covered with a liberal sprinkling of farce (oh, and a few people getting wet) and you have the perfect day out. The Good for Nothing (His New Profession) - 1914 – Black & White. Charlie Chaplin taking advantage of an invalid gentleman by putting a beggars sign around him and taking him on a tour of the park in the hope he can supplement his income with a few extra donations! No surprise he gets caught out and loses his new job. Triple Trouble - 1918 – Black & White. A film made up from footage shot at several different times and for different stories. It is very clever that these ‘odd’ sections of film seem to have been knitted together to form a complete and coherent story.
