"John Lennon - Through The Looking Glass" DVD

John Lennon was born on October 9th 1940. His mother Julia gave him the middle name Winston in tribute to the one time British Prime Minister Winston Churchill. His wayward father, Alfred, a ship's steward, was at sea for most of Lennon's early years. When Julia and Alfred separated, his Aunt, Mary 'Mimi' Stanley (his mother's sister) insisted that John, who was 5 years old at the time, came to live with her. After much pestering, it was his Aunt Mimi who bought Lennon his first guitar. It was also Mimi who was credited with the immortal words "The guitar's all very well, John, but you'll never make a living out of it." This DVD documentary follows the fame and the tragically short life of one of the UK's greatest songwriters and musicians - John Lennon. "John was a great guy who will be missed by the whole world" - Paul McCartney
